My grandparents put me into the Art League when I was 4 years old. I have been artistic at a very young age and I showed an interest in art at a very young age. Of course when you are 4 years old you don’t have much experience with the arts but I was blessed to have my parents and grandparents who wanted me to have to have that experience. I took art classes there on Saturday’s from the ages 4 – 7. I stopped when I was 7, I think and then went back at 12 years old. When I entered High School I lost an interest and wanted to do other activities such as Girl Scouts. I still call myself very artistic. I’d rather draw a picture than write a picture in school. I recently volunteered at The Art League and it felt like a I was 6 years old again in those classrooms and walking those hallways. I loved to see other peoples work. It is such a good place for kids to go when they want to work on their art skills. I did outgrow The Art League but I can always go back and take some classes. I’ve always wanted to take their painting classes. I loved the Art League and it is a place and hobby I can always go back to.
